Yeast infections and pregnancy sometimes go hand in hand. The reason for this is that the estrogen in the female body is pumping out like crazy during pregnancy. This becomes conducive to the natural fungus in the body to go haywire and become infectious.

These natural treatments are great because they are safe and they work well. Natural cures can also be very inexpensive. All you need is a little know how.

The big pharmaceutical companies are pushing their own branded medications for yeast infection. The problem is, they don't usually get rid of the root cause of the yeast infection. The natural way works to get rid of the root cause of yeast infections. The big pharmaceutical companies cannot patent the natural way, hence they are pushing their own brands heavily even though there are better treatments.

The key here is body balance. As we all know, we have a natural bacteria to yeast ratio in our bodies. Women can get yeast infections if this balance is upset. The estrogen during pregnancy upsets this balance. That is why women are more prone to yeast infections during this time.

Here are some ways you can fight yeast infections the natural way.

1. Think about the clothes you are wearing. Do not wear tight clothes or clothes made of lycra. The goal here is to facilitate the natural airflow to your vagina. So wear clothes made of cotton. At night, you can sleep sans underwear to let the air soothe your vagina.

2. Probiotic food like yogurt is great to maintain the bacteria to yeast ratio of the body. It is called probiotics because it facilitates the growth of good bacteria. These good bacteria then inhibits the growth of yeast and prevents it from becoming infectious.

Some women spread yogurt on their tampons. After putting it in, they leave it for a few minutes. After wards, they rinse with water and non-medicated soap.

3. An apple cider vinegar bath is also great at restoring the pH balance of the body. Apple cider vinegar is great at balancing the bacteria to yeast ratio of the body.

Just put a liberal amount of apple cider vinegar on your bath water. Soak in it for a few minutes. Afterwards you can rinse it with water and non-medicated soap.
