The idiot proof diet is commonly referred to as the 11 day diet. Does it work? Can you really lose 9 pounds in 11 days? Although there is many claims of this being done after further research it seems as if nine pounds are the upper limit and more realistic expectations are around the 5-7 pounds range. In this article we will explain what the 11 day diet is and how it works. The concept of the 11 day diet is based around a principle called calorie shifting. This is where you manipulate the metabolism by shifting calories. It sounds complicated but really isn't. Calorie shifting has been around for a long time and useful for more than just dieting. When you shift your calories your metabolism is "tricked" into either slowing down or working harder. One example of this is when people try losing weight by eating less. Sometimes this can be the absolutely worst thing you can do. If you eat too little your body will actually store more fat for energy because it doesn't know when it will get to eat again. The eleven day diet comes with two main parts. A handbook which covers basic dieting principles and a simple program called an online diet generator. With the diet generator you choose foods from many foods on a list and it prints out a meal plan for 11 days. You eat EXACTLY what is on the menu every day for the next 11 days. You then get 3 cheat days where you are allowed to eat more normal. After the 3 cheat day you then print out another 11 day menu if you wish. You can pick the same or all new foods. The program allows you to print out as many menus for as long as you wish. If you are someone that normally has a hard time deciding what to eat or how to structure a diet plan this could be really helpful.
