Types of Fevers and Symptoms

When body temperature rises above the normal range (98?4F) it is considered a fever. There are multiple causes and each type of fever has been named on the basis of the causes which trigger it. There can be no fever in the absence of any cause, as a fever is simply an effect of a cause or set of causes.

This is why a fever is sometimes considered a good thing; because it's your body's response to a greater threat.

Common Symptoms

1. Rise in temperature of body heat
2. Perspiration or Shivering
3. Restlessness and agitated temper
4. Pain and soreness all over the body but some limbs may be extra painful and sore
5. Thirst
6. Loss of Appetite

Not all the said symptoms may be present in all types of fevers, as some of the symptoms are predominant (called leading symptoms) whereas the rest of which are either dormant or secondary, but heat in the body, whether low or high, is almost always a symptom.

If we take into account classification of fevers according to present diagnosis, following categories/varieties of fevers have been discerned.

1. Typhoid Fever
2. Malarial Fever
3. Rheumatic Fever
4.Dengue Fever
5. Meningitis Fever
6. Sandfly Fever
7. Mumps Fever
8. Diphtheria

Whatever be the cause and type of fever, there are always clear symptoms in each variety to diagnose it by.

One good remedy that can break a small fever is lemon juice. Also, you can try a hot sweat bath to break the fever. The treatment will also heavily depend on what the cause of the fever is.
