Can A 40 Year Old Woman Pass For 25? Is it really possible for a 40 year old woman to be mistaken for a 25 year old? Definitely. It happens to a friend of mine frequently. She just turned 40. She looks about 25. She is a single mom, with a sixteen year old son. She has a beautiful face, a slim sexy figure, but can cuss like a drunken sailor when she gets angry. She's a member of the NRA, owns two pistols, a shotgun, and she knows how to use them all. And to add to the mystery of this remarkable woman, she was a certified precision welder for eight years. Yes, a certified hard-hat welder. She's truly hard to believe. Mixing welder and gorgeous woman in the same sentence just doesn't seem to fit. But in her case, it's a natural fit. So what's her secret? How does this enigma in a Size 2 maintain such a youthful appearance? Here are a few of her secrets: 1. Her exercise routine. She walks her three dogs, vigorously, at least five days a week over a 4.2 mile course. And the secret weapon she uses to help lose weight on her walks...? She wears a 20 pound weighted walking vest on every walk. She attributes her weight loss of twelve pounds over the past six months directly to wearing her weighted walking vest. Weighted walking vests are the undiscovered secret weapon to burning calories on a walk. (Look for my upcoming article on weighted vests.) 2. Her beautiful face. She says she gently cleanses her face both at night and in the morning with a mixture of a natural organic soap (no chemicals) mixed with a little baking soda. She says the baking soda acts as a mild dermabrasive agent, cleaning her skin and her skin pores. She then uses a vitamin E facial moisturizer. Now the truth is, her face is lovely. Everyone she meets comments on her lovely face and skin. 3. She swears by the importance of doing daily facial exercises. At 40, her face is soft but with clearly defined, almost chiseled cheekbones. No bags under the eyes, no jowls, no droopy eyelids. Her daily facial exercise routine includes ten minutes of facial exercises every night and five minutes in the morning. Even though her facial gyrations can be a bit humorous to watch, they work. Facial exercises are definitely one of her secret facial beauty tips. 4. She sensibly watches her diet. Now she's not a fanatic about diet, but she avoids most high carb foods. Her idea of a nice healthy meal is a garden salad, a nice salmon steak, and a glass of red wine. She buys mainly organic produce and fruits. 5. She uses sunscreen any time she will be in the sun for 15 or more minutes. Considering we live in Florida, she goes through a lot of sunscreens. 6. She does a colon-cleansing and maintenance routine once a week. She insists this weekly ritual is what keeps her skin so youthful. 7. Vitamins. She takes an assortment of vitamins daily along with a secret magical anti-aging elixir. "And what might that secret anti-aging elixir be, I asked with baited breath...?" "I have a shot of extra virgin olive oil every morning. It works miracles in your digestive tract..." she replied. I was impressed. A shot of olive oil every morning. Hmmm... The final topic of discussion with this lovely lady involved the Ab Machine I saw out on her curb awaiting the weekly garbage pickup. "I don't need that stuff any longer. My walking, my hand weights, and my stretch bands work just as well." And I wasn't one to argue. This 40 year old taught me several anti-aging secrets during that interview. I'll definitely be using a few of her beauty and anti-aging secrets.
